I discovered Shutterfly about fours years ago and in that time I have made over 20 photo books, 5 calendars, printed hundreds of photos, and over 30 greeting cards. Can you tell I like Shutterfly? The photo book to the right is one I made last month. I also use them as my photo backup. I upload all of my photos I want to keep safe to Shutterfly. If the worst happens such as my house burns down (or Mt Rainer explodes) I know that all of my photos and photo books can be reprinted.
Truly I find Shutterfly easy to use to make my photo books. Everything is done online so I can start a book on my laptop and later finish it on the desktop (it has a bigger screen which is perfect for reviewing the final version of my photo books before purchasing.) I made a photo book last month and tried the new custom path. Making the photo book was still easy but I had even more control of everything such as photo placement, size, number of photos, overlapping photo or not and the same control for print. I personally like to overlap my photos especially ones taken in public, you never know what a stranger might be doing in the background. I even have a picture of someone picking their nose once in the background of my girls at Disneyland. I adore the picture but not the nose picking kid, I simply overlapped another photo over the kid and it was great.
I have not made greeting cards lately, but a few years ago I made a bunch for gifts. I made a set of 10 greeting cards for different occasions using pictures of my girls. I ordered 3 sets, one for me, the other two as Mother's day gifts for my mom and mother-in-law. They were a huge hit.
Besides the greeting cards you can also print Christmas cards or even party invitations. I discovered Shutterfly after both of my girls were born but I had before I would wanted to use this for their birth announcements.

Of course as you might be able to tell I am already a huge fan of Shutterfly.
