Thomas the Train and Friends Show

We took the girls to the Thomas & Friends Live! On Stage: A Circus Comes To Town and they had a blast. They both were mesmerized from the first.

They both kept eyeing the cotton candy so during intermission Daddy got them a bag to share. Princess G has been excited since I told her we were going to the show. She is a huge Thomas the Train fan, though Percy (the green train) is her favorite. For a few weeks she has been asking "Are we going to see Thomas tomorrow?"
Princess A was not as excited when I first told her. She wanted to go but asked if she could be something to play with in case she got bored. Well as soon as the show started her eyes never left the stage. She even sung and danced one of the numbers from the show all the way to the car, in the car and after we got home. Princess G and I joined her in the dancing and sing too, well at least until we got to the car!

The show was about an hour and a half, including a 15 minutes intermission. I must say the show did not seem that long as we were all entertained. The girls thought the 'talking' trains were the neatest thing. Princess G was just so excited just hearing Thomas the Train's whistle, let alone when she finally saw him. If you have a Thomas the Train fan I would recommend taking them to Thomas & Friends Live! On Stage: A Circus Comes To Town. Both Princesses had so much fun and kept saying "Thank you Mommy!"
So thank you MomSelect, my family loved the show.

Best Show on Earth

I remember going to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus with my Grandparents when I was little. They took my sister and I and we had a blast. I remember the three rings with something go in each. The elephants were my favorites along with the lions. The most exciting was the motorcycle in the metal ball cage, the tightrope walkers and the trapeze artist. I really wish the circus was coming close to us. Husband's First Race

My darling husband's New Year's Resolution was to run a race for the first time.
(Well besides timed PT in the Army.) He ran a 5K at 22 minutes, his personal best.
I felt a little bad since I did not get a picture or a video of him crossing the finish line. There was a small incident with mittens and Princess G
just as he was almost at the end. Here is his cheering section. We only came for the finish since it was hovering around freezing at the start of the race.

Luckily it warmed up considerably by the time we arrived. Next month Princess A is going to enter a race with Daddy, either a 3K at her school or a 1 mile race for kids in a nearby town.
Next up he plans to run a half marathon with some co-workers.
I loved running races in high school and wish I still could (my knees are not quite lined up properly so running is not a good idea.)

Wordless Wednesday: Family Movie Watching

I made popcorn and lemonade slushies for my movie watchers.
The girls got their chairs by themselves and decided to put them on the couch next to Daddy.

Art at The Mall

Princess A entered two pieces of art for the PTA Reflections contest this school year. Her photograph of her sister made it to the District level and was shown at the mall.

To celebrate we went out to lunch, the girls picked Thai food.

We weren't sure where the picture was at the mall so we ended up on the wrong end.

The girls wanted to stop and play on the toys as we searched mall.

After a very rude and unhelpful visit to the help desk (the women was annoyed I asked her for help!) We eventually found the art display. The photograph is the pink bordered one behind my shoulder.

Here is the actually photograph she took herself with her Fisher Price camera.
When that was done we then went out for ice cream at Stone Cold Creamery.
They both picked cotton candy ice cream with Princess A picking sprinkles and Princess G gummy bears. My darling husband and I shared our favorite, a berry berry good (berries and sweet cream ice cream), yummy!!

100th Day of Kindergarten

Today was Princess A's 100Th day of kindergarten. I know it is late but they had a number of canceled day (snow and flooding) and they don't have school every other Wednesday.
To celebrate each student was suppose to wear a hat with 100 things on it.

Crazy mom that I am, I crocheted 100 hearts and then sewed them on a witch hat (her choice!)
She loves the hat so much she kept asking if she could keep it FOREVER!

Of course Princess G wanted one too. Since I did not have enough time to crochet another 100 hearts I made her a hat with 100 beads which spells out 100.

I rushed the sewing a little so the last zero started to come off.
(I was a little tired of sewing!)Since today is my day to help out in the classroom I also made myself a hat.
A pirate hat with 100 paperclips on it.

Can you tell I got less creative and spent less time on each hat!
If you want to know how to make the hearts I found the instructions here on Skip to my Lou.
The girls want more hearts but I might take a break for a little while.

Our Valentine's Day Party

First they let me sleep in, well sort of I kept hearing little feet tiptoe up to my bed to see if I was sleeping.
When I finally got up this handsome guy had flowers for me and his two little Princesses.
I received a lovely bouquet of dark pink roses and stargazer lilies (my favorite).
Each of the girls received a single rose.Next it was off to the Valentine's Day party Princess A has been planning for a week.
Here is our feast, juice, alphabet scones (in the teapot), toffee, cakes, tea, soup and other yummy treats.

Princess G is showing the 'ocarina' (a Polly pocket car) that each of us received from Princess A.

Princess A is passing out the toffee (yellow blocks.) We then shared a slice of chocolate mouse cake my darling husband picked up that morning along with the flowers.

Next it was time for gifts. The day before the girls and I made Daddy's Valentine's Day gift, toffee. This time the girls wanted to put pretty sprinkles on top instead of chocolate.
The girls each got a toy from Daddy; Princess A received a mini Tinkerbell set and Princess G a mini My Little Pony set. I received a warm sweater and a new watch.
(I kind of hinted for one at Christmas.)

Later that night a new babysitter came and we went out to dinner alone.
It was really so nice and the girls had lots of fun too.

Princess G's Swim Lessons

On Tuesday and Thursdays as soon as Princess A's class goes inside we rush to the Y for swim lessons. The lessons start in 15 minutes and the Y is 15 minutes away. We run inside and since Princess G already has her bathing suit on we just strip her clothes off in the hallway.
She always has lots of fun but she is always cold after class so she warms up in a very warm shower. This session the girls will be taking lessons at the same time (Princess A is so excited since she has never taken swim lessons before) so they will be in the afternoon. I am a little worried since we will be done at 4:30 and have to battle traffic home. Since we normally eat at five I am planning on a lot of slow cooker meals. Any great recipes?

Ballet Class

We had some problems at the Ballet classes at the Y so the girls (more Princess A) did not want to go anymore. They both still love ballet so we are having ballet class at home.

Johnson's 50th Anniversary

I remember my Mom using JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS® to clean my hair, I loved the scent. The smell still means clean to me. I also remember helping my Mom wash my brother when he was a baby. We would wash him in the sink, either in the bathroom and when he got too big, the kitchen. My brother was a bit of a butterball, we called him the Buddha baby. My Mom would give me a wash cloth to help wash all the folds all over his body, he really was chunky.
Once I had my own two little girls I also used JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS® for their first baths, and the millions that have followed. For Princess G's first bath at home (the first was at the hospital and the nurse did use a cute little bottle of JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS®) Princess A got to help. She was in charge of cleaning the feet. Princess A only got to use water, since Mommy was in charge of the soap (you can just see the lid of the soap under my arm.)

Even though my girls are a little older we still use JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS®. The girls loved the new HEAD-TO-TOE® Foaming Wash since they could pump it themselves onto their wash clothes. We have also used the JOHNSON’S® Baby Bubble Bath & Wash for every bath since it arrived. The girls like the light scent and the bubbles are "Perfect for washing Cinderella, Aurora and Ariel's hair, Mommy!" As my girls informed me last night.

JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS® is also perfect for cleaning faces when a big sister decides to make her little sister "Extra pretty!" (Princess A drew on Princess G's face.) I was so afraid I would have a very blue and green colored child but thankfully JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS® removed the ink and there really were no tears. JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TEARS® has been part of my family for years and will be in the years to come.
For more information they now have great videos to watch on their own YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/baby. The videos are not just about washing your baby, they have videos about how to play and bond with your baby, and most importantly how to get your baby to fall asleep quickly and easily.
After watching some of the videos click here (they are on the right side of the page) to get some coupons to save when you head out to buy some.

Wordless Wednesday: Dressing-Up

PJ bottoms, my old nightgown (from when I was her age), a scarf belt and Tinkerbell wings.
Too cute!!

Fun Toy Store

We happen to have some time and wandered into a great toy store.

They had lot of toys out for you to try and play with.

Princess A tried out a few things at once.

Princess G put all the toys down for her pretty picture.

Parking Pal Magnet Giveaway

Have a Parking Pal magnet to giveaway to one lucky reader. I have the FlowerPal waiting to ship out to one of you. A Parking Pal is a magnet that you put directly on your car and when you are getting in or out of the car you have your child keep their hand on the cute hand print. Just place the Parking Pal and your car and since it is a magnet it will stay put but it comes off easily if you need too and with no sticky residue like a sticker.
Now I am sure you want to know how you can win the FlowerPal Parking Pal for yourself.

Valentine's Party at School

Princess G had swimming this morning so we missed the first part of school this morning.

We got back in time for the main part of the party snacks and most importantly the sorting of the Valentine's.

Princess G colored and then played in the kitchen for most of the party.

Princess A sorted and then put back all of her Valentine's into her cute Pocket Puppy.

After we got home she made even more Valentine's for her family for the 'party' she is having in her room Saturday morning. I am not suppose to see the party table she has set up behind her door (it is blankets over some pillows) and have to avert my eyes when in her room.
