Tea party

The Princesses and I had a little tea party today (with friends monkey and fairy beary) while our new carpet was being installed. We played tea party, princesses, dominos, danced, had lunch, another tea party (with real tea), and then I finally let them watch some TV. I had to keep them in one small area for over six hours while the carpet was installed! They are both sick so I could not take them anywhere. We will be making scones tomorrow and that will call for another tea party! This time I will let them use the tea set my Mom got them for Christmas (I keep it in one of the rooms that got new carpet today so we couldn't use it).
Here is the apple scone recipe we always use from allrecipes.com.

INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, chilled
1 apple - peeled, cored and shredded
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS
Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, and salt into a large bowl. Cut in butter or margarine until crumbly. Add shredded apple and milk. Stir to form a soft dough.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 8 to 10 times. Pat into two 6-inch circles. Place on greased baking sheet. Brush tops with milk, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Score each into 6 pie-shaped wedges.
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 15 minutes, or until browned and risen. Serve warm with butter.

  2. I was dropping by (a little late, sorry) for the tea party. I know how you feel about the staying in one room while carpet is being installed. We had that happen a few weeks ago. I was stuck in part of the house with my youngest, while carpet was being installed in our family room. Now on Monday we are having hard wood installed throughout most of the house and I have opted to take her out somewhere that day. My husband will be the unforunate one stuck in one room on that particular day!
