The Princesses visted the Dentist Yesterday

The girls love going to the dentist as they have a big play area with a castle, train table, two arcade video games and of course a carousel.

We went 20 minutes early just to play but they saw us right away, which means we stayed over 30 minutes to play after they were done.
Princess G is all smile now but she did not want the Dentist is polish her teeth at all. As soon as she saw the chair she covered her mouth and said 'I don't want him to use it on my teeth!!" She let him exam and count her teeth very easily. The polishing and fluoride stuff was not very fun. It only last a minute or two but she was really mad!! She then was very concerned about getting her goodie bag. As soon as they gave her the coin (to get a prize from the vending machines) and her new toothbrush she was fine.

Building with Couch Cushions

What is it about couch cushions and kids playing with them? As a kid my siblings and I spent hours and hours building castles, boats, buildings and forts with couch cushions. I introduced the Princesses to the idea over the summer but only recently have they really been playing this way. Everyday we have the same conversation.

"Mommy, can we take the cushions off?"

"Is your room clean and your bed made?"

"But that will take forever!!"

"Well if you want to play with the cushions you better get started!"

As you can see she is all smile before having a taste. After the first bite she had me scrape the icing off. Here are my pretty cupcakes:

The Widow Clicquot

I was sent The Widow Clicquot to review I really enjoyed the whole book. I have been reading some fluff lately and this book reminded me why I love books that have some substance to them, especially one with history. The book is about the Widow Clicquot
The story of the visionary young widow who built a champagne empire, showed the world how to live with style, and emerged a legend

The book not only follows the life of an extrodinary woman it also is a book that explores what it was like for the middle class at that time in France. The book starts a few years before the French Revolution and follows the life of Barbe-Nicole as a child, getting married and eventually become a widow. That is when the story really takes off as the Widow Clicquot takes over the Champagne company that was struggling under her husbands command and creates and empire. You will have to read the book to find out what happens next.

Cake Decorating Class

My darling husband has been encouraging me to do something for me. Well I signed up for a cake decorating class. I had my second class and I decorated my first cake.
(The first class we just watched)
Princess A stayed up so she could have a slice of cake when I got home. She also wanted to help decorate so she added some stars and a mini rainbow.

The Rainbow Castle

While I was shopping for tights for Princess A (it is hard to find cute tights in her size) and the girls were playing with these Legos.

They did not want to leave their 'rainbow' castle because as Princess A informed me

"I might forget what it looks like Mommy!"

I offered to take a picture.

Then they were all smiles since "I will remember forever now!"

Of course I had to show them the pictures a few times after we left but they will now always remember their rainbow castle. They really do love taking pictures.

Gifts for Teachers

Princess A is trying to decide what to make her teacher for Christmas. She decorated these compact mirrors for her Pre-K teachers.
In September she made her teacher a necklace for her birthday. She is thinking of making a matching bracelet or a book for Christmas. I am trying to come-up with some other ideas.

Maybe I could get her a Klutz book and she could make something (she was eyeing the bracelet one a few weeks ago) http://klutz.com/actpb
Klutz is having a special offer from - free shipping and a free copy of the award-winning Activity Book (a $14.95 value) when you order $50+ via this link.

I could order some books for Christmas (my nieces and princesses both love crafts of all sorts)

Out For Lunch

Daddy took his girls out for Lunch and these cement animals were on the lawn next door.
Daddy went on in to order and we took pictures.

They 'just had' to take picture in front of all three.
I think I created a pair of hams.

All I need to keep them happy and or distracted in a digital camera.

Business Trip

Since Princess A did not have school Tuesday or Wednesday this week we went with my darling husband on a short business trip.
The girls were so excited since we got to stay at a hotel that has a pool. All they want to do is get hot cocoa and go swimming! That is what we did this morning before we left for home.

Sunday, November 9

Our Bounty of Carrots

We planted many seeds last spring but few survived. We had three carrots that were growing over the summer, and I forgot all about them until today. When we joined Daddy in the backyard raking up the leaves, I saw them. Only two were left and they were the tiniest little carrots I have ever seen.
After posing, we had to take two pictures since each wanted one holding the 'big' carrot, the girls wanted to eat them. Again each of them wanted the 'big' one so I chopped each one in half. They both said they were yummy!

If you are wondering about what they are wearing, they were dressed up for trick or treating around the house. Princess A is a watermelon princess and Princess G is Eeyore and they dressed themselves.

My Birthday at the Great Wolf Lodge

My darling husband took all of us to the Great Wolf Lodge for my birthday.
Princess A and Daddy are pretending to race.

The girls are playing puppets in the children's area.

We also went trick or treating with a Dr. Suess theme, here is the Horton room.
Now I am sure you are wondering where are the water slide pictures, well they are on my old camera (I didn't want to bring my nice camera near the water) and I have to find the cable since the camera card reader quit again on the desktop computer.

Barbie Diamond Castle Review

The Princesses have been is Barbie heaven since Barbie & The Diamond Castle DVD arrived for review. They have watched it almost everyday. We even took it on our trip to the Great Wolf Lodge and they watched it on the way down and back. I now know most of the words to the songs of the two main characters Alexa and Liana played by Teresa and Barbie. The movie is about two best friends that work together using their friendship and music to save Melody and the Diamond castle. The two friends get upset with each other and have to find a way to mend their friendship and save the day. This is our third Barbie movie and I know we will be adding more as they come out. If you have a little girl who loves music and Barbie I would recommend picking this up for her. I know my girls keep telling everyone about the great new Barbie movie they have and that everyone should buy it. She even told her little friends which stores she saw the movie at so they could get it too.

Now keep checking back as I will be will be having a Barbie & The Diamond Castle giveaway soon.

Halloween Night

Princess G was a 'Fancy, Fancy Princess,' also known as Princess Aurora.
(Note it is very important that you say fancy twice!)
Princess A was a 'Good Witch'!As soon as Daddy got home we went to a carnival at the church.
They had lots of games and even a table to make crafts.

I was so happy that my darling husband went as he really, really does not like or understand the excitement of Halloween, but as he said "I love my girls and I don't want to dampen their excitement."

As soon as we got home, after making Daddy promise he would not hand out candy to any Trick-or-treaters (that was an easy promise to get), we went out ourselves.
No this is not our house. The girls loved the pumpkins so much they wanted a picture.
