Melba Toast Review

I always wondered what Old London Melba Toast tasted like. I finally tried it and really liked it. I was sent two boxes, Spice 3 Pepper and Whole Wheat. Princess G loved eating them straight out of the box but I liked them with cottage cheese. Princess A thought they were too hard for her loose tooth but she said she wants to try them again when her tooth finally falls out (or she lets me gently pull it out.) We liked them as a quick snack but there are lots of other ideas and recipes to try. Personally we ate them to fast to try out any of the recipes but I want to try the Lemon Meringue Tarts and the Chicken Soup and Crackers too. Of course you could put your favorite topping on them for a yummy appetizer.

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

My sweet husband had lots of plans for a fun day for me: breakfast out, visit the Farmer's Market (1st time this year) and dinner at Anthony's (our favorite restaurant where we used to live). Instead we had a low key day at home because Princess G was very ill. It started on Saturday, she complained that her eyes 'need more water' (they were dry) and I noticed more gunk in her eye than normal, but just a little extra. Thirty minutes later it was looking a little red and it was draining a lot of stuff. The gunk was normal color just a lot of it. I called the advice nurse and by the time I talked to someone (25 minutes later) it was slightly green. We went straight to the Doctor's and within another 30 minutes it was bright green and just coming out constantly. She has an earache and pink eye! The antibiotic took a while to kick in and meanwhile her poor eye swelled almost shut. She was a trooper and did not touch her eye. The Doctor said she could go to school today but her voice is yucky and her eye looks bruised (the pink eye is cleared up but the lid and under her eye are a little discolored.) My poor baby! It is so hard when they get sick. Luckily this is our only second prescription for antibiotics and Princess A has actually never had them. Only Princess G has had antibiotics and last time was for an earache. She also threw-up early Sunday morning from the medicine. She had a snack when she took it (around 2:30 am) but it must of not been enough because a little our an hour later she threw-up all over her bed and poor hippo. She calmly called out to me 'Mommy, I need you" and waited at the end of her bed. She did not get any on herself so Daddy and I cleaned up her bed while she climbed into ours and fell right asleep. I really did have a nice Mother's Day despite what it sounds like. Instead of going out my sweet husband went and picked food up as he said I should not have to cook even if we can't go out. We just stayed home, watched movies together, I finished knitting a starfish for Princess G, we played games and just hung out together.

Friend's Birthday Party

Over the weekend I received a phone call from our neighbor with almost the same address (the only difference is the Ct in the address so we get each other's mail all the time) and her granddaughter was having a birthday party and did we want to come? The girls jumped at the chance I finally got to meet the mom, I have only seen the girls with their Nana.
Even though Easter was over weeks earlier the kids still had a blast with an egg hunt.

They also played pin the crown on the princess (it is a barbie kite.)

After a few more games and cake it was time to go home. When we got home Daddy told them he could hear the whole party from our backyard and he knew had had a great time.

Sometimes the simplest parties are the most fun!

Disneyland Day Five

We got up early so we could attend ToonTown Madness.

We were able to get a quick picture with Minnie before the presentation.

My little cute, sporting her shades and favorite hat (I originally got it for Princess A but she liked mine better.)

Princess A is wear what was my hat for one day and now it is hers.

I wish the store had another one, I really like that hat!

Being in Toon Town we had to go on the roller coaster, this time Daddy want with us.

When we got off the roller coaster we got a picture with Donald.

We went right back to the roller coaster again, the girls really like it.

We visited Mickey in his house.

We wanted a family photo so we went to visit Minnie at her house too.

Every time we go to Disneyland the girls like to have this picture taken.

I remembered to bring some pennies (we also did squished pennies this year) so the girls could each make a wish at the wishing well.

Princess A was so excited when I gave her a new Minnie Mouse, she carried it all day!

Princess G was just as excited with her Mickey Mouse.

I love this picture, we took it New Orleans Square behind where you come out of Pirates of the Caribbean.

This trip we tried lots of things we had never done and the last day we did the Tiki birds and the House of Innovation. The House of Innovation is really cool after you have to sit through the infomercial (seriously I thought I walked into a timeshare sales office by mistake!)

We finally made it on the Autotopia but went we got to the car Princess G got upset because she wanted to ride with Daddy (he was not even in line with us so I am not sure how she thought he was riding with us.) I drove a little crazy, she laughed and everything was all better!

We were staying for the fireworks but since it was the last day we let the girls pick what they wanted to do. Princess G wanted to ride 'Roses' and Princess A went to ride Thunder Mountain.

Together we all rode the Teacups while Grandma and Grandpa found a spot to watch the fireworks.

Princess A wanted to ride Thunder Mountain again so Princess G and I hopped in line for Dumbo. After over 25 minutes (our longest line the whole trip) we got our last ride in.

The fireworks that night were great though I wish they started earlier. The next morning we got up and headed to the airport, another great trip to Disneyland!!

Disneyland Day Four

Before the park opened we had Princess A open her presents from her Grandparents and Aunt.

After all of the gifts we went to Ariel's Grotto for a Princess Breakfast.
(We always book through Costco and it includes a character breakfast.)
Princess G wither her favorite Princess, Aurora.

Princess A is all smiles with her favorite Princess, Cinderella.

Since we were there to celebrate Princess A's and Daddy's birthday they gave each of them a birthday brownie and sang "Happy Birthday."

We wandered down the boardwalk (and forgot to try and win a Bullsyeye for Princess G.)

Last year Playhouse Disney was closed while it was updated so we excited to see the new show. It was lots of fun but I do miss Bear from the Big Blue House.

We went and showed Grandma and Grandpa Turtle Talk. We were able to talk to the turtle by ourselves so the girls were very excited. after that we tried the Animation Studio for the first time. In about 20 minutes you are taught how to draw a classic character. We ended up attending to sessions, one for Minnie and one for Mickey Mouse. Princess A almost memorized the lesson and gave it to her friends at her birthday party.

Grandma got the girls some cotton candy and it was a huge hit!

We spent a little more time in California Park (including the ride: Soaring over California a few times) before we headed over to Disneyland for the rest of the day.

Planning a Fancy Nancy Tea Party

First you need to make invitations, you can make butterfly ones just like the one in Bonjour Butterfly!

You need crafts: One is to make paper butterflies, if you put them on a stick you can make them fly by flapping them up and down!

Another craft is to make or decorate crowns (use stickers or jewels.) Make sure you have lots of yummy foods. I usually make scones and heart shaped brownies. We also serve real loose tea in teapots and over the cup strainers (or apple juice for those who don't like tea). I will also pick up a few other treats and don't forget the cupcakes.

A Fancy Nancy Tea Party is also the perfect time to wear your fanciest dresses. Princess G wore this because it reminds her of a dress Fancy Nancy would wear!

Disneyland Day Three

Our third day started with star Tours again and then the Astro Riders.

I got to ride with little cutie.

As we were walking we saw the Queen of Hearts up ahead and were able to get a picture with her.

We also took a picture with the White Rabbit, we have never had pictures with either one before.

As soon as the pictures were done we hopped on the Tea Cups. The girls like to see if we can spin it super fast!!

The girls wanted to take some picture with crazy poses, so here they are!

Daddy tried to take a picture by himself but you can see how that worked out. I did get one of just him after this one.

Princess G really wanted to go on Dumbo, she loves this ride and we do ride it every year.

Princess A did not want to wait in the long line (it was only about a 20 minute line but we usually only go for the short lines) but once we were on Dumbo she had a blast!

By this time their Grandparents were already suppose to be meeting us. Eventually they showed up and the girls were so excited. I don't have a pictures as my MIL will not have her picture taken. I never did get a single picture of her.

Princess A wanted to finally try the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom. Auntie Babe (my SIL), Grandma and I took her. She loved it so much she wanted to go again with Daddy.

Princess A battled Darth Vadar last year and couldn't wait for her Grandparents to watch her this year. Princess G is still not ready, maybe next year.

After dinner we went over to California Park for the Pixar Parade. We loved it and I recommend it over the parade they have in Disneyland right now.

My husband and girls had so much fun spending time with the Grandparents and Auntie, they couldn't wait to come back the next day all together.
